Nigerian rapper and singer Adedeji, popularly known as Olamide Baddo, has revealed that he almost quit music after a four-year hiatus.

In an interview with Too Xclusive, Olamide shared that he considered focusing solely on songwriting, but ultimately realized that music was his purpose in life.

Meanwhile, Olamide’s latest album, Ikigai, has been making waves in the music industry. This is especially with standout tracks like Hello Habibi and Metaverse. The Japanese term Ikigai means living a life of purpose, which Olamide says resonated with him during his introspective period.

However, the singer’s last album, Carpe Diem, was released in 2020, and Olamide has now returned with a renewed passion for music. Additionally, he credits his realization that music is his purpose in life for inspiring his comeback.

Also, Olamide’s honesty about his struggles and triumphs has endeared him to fans. Lastly, Ikigai is proof of his continued relevance in Nigeria’s music industry.
